Commercial brands
Life Fitness
Parent company of Hammer Strength and Cybex
The Insignia Series combo uses a reversing mechanism so one stack resists both abduction and adduction. It is a full-commercial machine with a 260 lb stack (305 lb heavy option) and a large 89 in wide live area. Sold through Life Fitness and its dealers.
Hammer Strength
A Life Fitness brand
Known for plate-loaded strength, Hammer Strength also makes the Select line of dedicated selectorized machines. The Select Hip Abduction and Hip Adduction are separate 61 x 26 in machines with 295 lb stacks, built to sit side by side on a busy floor.
Cybex
A Life Fitness brand
The Prestige Strength VRS Hip Abduction uses knee pads designed to minimize knee stress and dual foot bars for a wide range of user heights, with a matching adduction machine. We could not confirm its stack size or footprint, so ask the dealer.
Precor
Commercial strength and cardio
Precor's Resolute Series includes a dedicated Inner Thigh machine (RSL0620) with a 200 lb stack, where the user faces the weight stack tower. It pairs with any dedicated abductor.
Nautilus
Commercial line sold through Core Health and Fitness
The Inspiration combo has a 200 lb stack in 10 lb plates with 5 lb add-ons, rotating thigh pads and a range-of-motion adjustment. Small steps make it a common fit for clinics and active-aging facilities.
Home and light-commercial brands
Body-Solid
Home and commercial strength equipment
The Pro Select GIOT-STK is a two-in-one with a 210 lb stack (310 lb option) and an adjustable lumbar back pad. Body-Solid also sells Pro Dual and ProClub inner and outer thigh machines, which appear in our home feed.
Force USA
Home and commercial strength equipment
The Solitude is a commercial-rated combo with a 220 lb stack and a 396 lb user rating. Force USA says it is sold through retail locations, and we found no Amazon listing.
BodyKore
Commercial-grade strength
The GR632 is the narrowest combo here at 39 in wide, with a 220 lb stack and a 3.5 in oval steel frame.
Titan Fitness
Home and garage equipment
Titan makes a selectorized combo with a 200 lb stack and a 10 lb start, and a low plate-loaded combo for Olympic plates rated to 250 lb. Both are listed on Amazon.
Patterns worth knowing
- Commercial machines are usually quoted. Freight, installation and layout matter as much as the machine, so dealers price them together.
- Warranties differ more than frames. Home and commercial terms differ, and labor is often short. Compare parts and labor, not just the frame.
- Live area is not footprint. Life Fitness and Hammer Strength publish live areas that are much wider than the frame. Plan the room around the live area.
- Increments vary. Nautilus offers 5 lb add-ons; many others move in 10 lb plates.
How we evaluate
We rank by use case, not with star scores. Every pick has to win on the criteria below for the job it is recommended for.
- Published specs onlyStack weight, increments, dimensions, live area, machine weight and user rating, taken from the manufacturer or an authorized seller and dated. We have not tested these machines and we do not invent test results, scores or ratings.
- Unconfirmed means unconfirmedWhen sources disagree or a figure is not published, we say "Not confirmed" instead of guessing.
- Fit before featuresCeiling height, width with the arms open and live area decide more purchases than any feature list, so they carry the most weight.
- AdjustabilityHow the start position is set, how the machine switches direction and how small the weight jumps are.
- Warranty in writingWe point you to the seller's warranty page, because home and commercial terms differ and change.
- Fit over commissionSome machines link to Amazon, where we may earn a commission. Dealer-only machines earn us nothing, and we still recommend them where they fit best.
Frequently asked questions
Which brand makes the best commercial abductor machine?
It depends on the floor. Life Fitness makes a strong commercial combo, Hammer Strength a dedicated pair for throughput, and Nautilus offers 5 lb add-on steps that suit clinics.
Are Hammer Strength and Life Fitness the same company?
Hammer Strength is a Life Fitness brand, and Cybex is too.
Can I buy these machines on Amazon?
Some of them. The Body-Solid GIOT-STK and both Titan machines are listed on Amazon, and our pages link to those listings. The commercial lines are sold through dealers. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
