How we choose
Abductor Machine Co. is an independent guide to one thing: the hip abductor and adductor machine. We teach people to use it well and compare the machines honestly from published specs.
Why one machine?
Hip machines have their own set of problems: tall stack towers, wide live areas, pads that sit in the wrong place, and adductor setups that strain groins. Narrowing to one category lets us answer those questions properly, from how to set the start position to whether a combo will fit under a basement ceiling.
How we choose machines
We have not tested the machines on this site, and we do not publish scores, star ratings or reviews from people who have not used them. Instead we:
- Collect specs from the manufacturer or an authorized seller and date the check. When sources disagree or a figure is missing, we mark it "Not confirmed".
- Rank machines by use case: home, garage, narrow room, clinic, busy commercial floor. Fit (height, width, live area) carries the most weight.
- Draw each machine as a schematic from its published overall dimensions, so you can judge size. Drawings and feed illustrations are not the exact product.
- Recommend dealer-only commercial machines where they fit best, even though they earn us nothing.
How we write guides
Every guide is written for the gym floor first: settings you can use, cues you can say, programs you can run. Where we cite research, we link the study and describe what it actually tested. Where evidence is thin, such as trunk lean on the seated machine, we say so instead of overstating it. Guides are general education, not medical advice.
How we make money
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. When you click a "View on Amazon" button and buy something, Amazon may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. We do not sell anything ourselves. See the affiliate disclosure.
